![]() ![]() Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that I'll need to move on to a different company. Sadly Blackvue pushed me away to other brands That's it! If someone absolutely want to to use the cloud, put it in another app, but let us users with basic needs have our app without being bugged! Change and adjust settings on the camera. I mean, if you pay for the camera, you should at least expect an easy to use app that only do two things: 1. ![]() And from there on, you are bugged with adverts about their totally useless cloud solution that costs a ton of money. So if your phone already had connected to the camera you have to turn of wifi again, and the let the app go online. No, these developers at Blackvue thought the app should start with checking for latest version online. And here we are talking about that you can't turn on wifi on the camera first, and then start the app. Then.later on Blackvue decided to rebuild the app totally. When i bought the camera, the app was ok. The reviews here say enough to keep your hands off Blackvue look around the net and compare until you find something suitable. If you don't have the knowledge or the patience to deal with these problems, you should definitely look elsewhere. That's why I'm using the first (3.18) Android version for my car radio. and even the cheap China cams are better I also can't run the current software on my Android Auto Radio because the click next buttons are below the visible screen. "Really Unnecessary" My camera costs €300.the new generation costs over €900 A dash cam is only as good as its software. The app also cannot be started without the 4G network.since it is looking for updates. then deactivate the 4G data and start the camera search, otherwise the app will search for the camera in the 4G network. Connect camera via wifi and Start the app. I messed around with this for 5 hours today only to find out why the camera won't connect to the phone. Hard work and very expensive piece of kit. I wish I could have my money back as the only way to view any video ( if taken) is to remove the SD card to plug into a laptop. It shuts off so what chance the cameras? Well hopefully the sexy little OBD plug should sort out the issue but doesn’t. It’s a modern car and you’ll recognise that you can’t even sit to listen to the radio. I wouldn’t mind if the system went into parking mode but it doesn’t at all as the car, again goes into battery saving mode and shuts everything down. My cameras shut off at traffic lights and junctions as the car slips into battery saving mode ( it’s a petrol fiesta titanium, go figure) so the cameras continually shut down which is useless as they take ages to start again. I also suspect a lot of issues occurred with stop/start technology in new cars. Idiotically they fixed the ‘can’t sinc camera to phone’ issue then updated the app so it doesn’t work again. Sadly I can’t rate this dashcam higher but there are just too many issues. ![]()
